Danielle and Mikel were married on a chilly November day, but you would never know that scrolling through their gallery. They brought their amazing energy, bright colors and pure joy and excitement to marry one another to Downtown Detroit in the dead of winter and it was MAGIC.

Danielle kicked off her day with her family and bridesmaids at her parent’s home. The gorgeous mid-afternoon light shone through the floor to ceiling windows as they readied for the day — laughing, smiling and admiring the beautiful bride. When it came time for their first look, Danielle and Mikel met on the rolling hills of the Glacier Golf Club, eager to see each other and spend the day celebrating their big moment with the people they love the most.

There were MANY special moments throughout their day, but my favorite was when Danielle’s Mom, Laurie, gave her speech at their reception. Laurie shared such beautiful, heartfelt words about her daughter, granddaughter and Mikel. She warmly welcomed him into the family, and you could feel how special that moment was for her. Her love for Danielle was so obvious throughout the day. Nothing beats a mother lovingly watching her daughter marry the love of her life!

Their reception space at Shelby Gardens really showed off their playful colors and theme, and they laughed, danced and celebrated with their family and friends well into the night.

I feel so thankful to have had an opportunity to be a part of Danielle and Mikel’s journey — from their engagement to their big day. They’re one of those couples that you serve and, when it’s all over, you consider them true friends. I’m looking forward to serving them and their family in the future!
